日本最具影響力、當代最重要的藝術家「坂本龍一」，思索四十多年的音樂之旅。他的音樂與心路同行，由擔任專業音樂技師開始，到憑經典電影《末代皇帝溥儀》榮獲「奧斯卡作曲家」、心繫311福島核災及從鼻咽癌中康復過來等種種經歷，讓坂本龍一開始思考音樂與現今社會、大自然和人類起始的關係…「CODA」解作樂曲尾聲的終句，坂本在片中賦予新的釋義：一曲的終結，代表新樂曲的開始。本片入圍威尼斯影展非競賽單元。
