Synopsis:
China is in turmoils as Yuan Shih-kai, the president, is preparing to become the emperor. The postman, the nameless lowly letter couries, is inadvertently caught in webs of intrigue. First he finds a theif in his room. Then he and the thief are attacked by mountain robbers. And they are rescued by Hu, one of Yuan's henchmen. Te Postman gets into more trouble. He finally agrees to work for Hu. And he is told to deliver four crates of goods to bandit leader Chiao....

民國初年，在北方盤龍鎮地域，有一個人們只稱他為巡城馬（即現今郵差）的人，巡於路上遇到男子被眾山賊追殺，不欲多管閒事，待山賊去後才繼續上路，後來巡在附近投店，發現方才被山賊追殺之男子於自己房內，查明後才知此人是出名之賊阿爸姚傑，因搶山賊銀票而被追殺，巡本不欲涉足此事，卻被姚傑架禍，使山賊誤會巡……
