改篇自沙特的同名短篇小說，蒐集獨裁者成長軼事寫成劇本，導演畢迪高拔首次執導便一舉摘下2015威尼斯影展最佳首作獎及地平線單元最佳導演獎。

第一次世界大戰尾聲，戰勝國展開漫長的凡爾賽條約談判過程，美國和談代表帶著虔誠基督徒妻子和叛逆的七歲小孩住進法國鄉間的古老莊園。當眾人一心以為外頭戰雲漸漸消散，誰知原來更大悲劇正潛伏家中！惡童披着深啡曲髮，不停惹事生非，向教堂信徒偷擲石頭、又向法文女教師性騷擾。而父母嚴格管教的懲罰也同時埋下了邪惡的種子！母子間無盡的意志對決，父親高壓介入及家庭的暴虐似乎正預告著殘暴獨裁者的降臨……全片大膽的攝影充滿濃厚的黑色陰沉風格，加上帶神秘色彩的交響配樂，讓人不寒而慄。而電影到底又是否在影射歐洲某一位獨裁者呢？
