Synopsis:
The film follows the story of Zhang Xiaofan, a kindhearted and pure village boy who is thrown into a world of chaos after his village gets massacred, and then becomes a disciple of the Qingyun Sect. Zhang Xiaofan learns martial arts from three masters and became a master of the mythical realm, while at the same time, experiences a complicated relationship with two beautiful girls, Lu Xueqi and Bi Yao.
一次機緣巧合，天音寺一位名為普智的高僧臨終前傳授張小凡「大梵般若」真法，希望能在他身上圓自己佛道雙修、參透生死的夢。
後來，草廟村遭到血腥屠殺。除了張小凡、林驚羽和樵夫王二叔三人外，無人倖免。青雲門於是收留他們。入青雲後，林驚羽修為神速，胸中一股傲氣沖天，很快得蒼松真傳，並得賜「斬龍劍」。而張小凡因為佛道雙修，導致修真進度甚為緩慢，師傅和師兄弟對他早已失去希望。田靈兒，田不易之女，是張小凡要好的玩伴，日久生情，張小凡一直在心底裏暗戀田靈兒。可是，田靈兒心中所傾慕的是「龍首峰」才貌雙全的師兄齊昊。
他們為了追逐一隻三目靈猴，而進入青雲山深處。無意間，張小凡以自己的精血將兩個至邪之物嗜血珠和攝魂煉成法器「燒火棍」，從此捲入正邪紛爭……
