Synopsis:
Based on the heart-rending true story of a sci-fi writer Taku Mayumura and his wife. After Sakutaro (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi) learns that his wife Setsuko (Yuko Takeuchi) has colon cancer, he takes the advice from his doctor that laughter could strengthen her immune system. Sakutaro then decides to write a shour story for his wife every day. At first, Setsuko was expected to live for only one more year, but she went on to live for five good years with the help of the 1,778 stories in total written by her husband for her over that time.
