Synopsis:
On the eve of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945, in a desperate attempt to reverse their inevitable defeat, the Japanese Unit 731, which invaded China, secretly conducted inhumane research on biological warfare in the name of "water supply and epidemic prevention" in the Pingfang district of Harbin. They extensively captured civilians for live human experimentation. Vendor Wang Yongzhang and others were forcibly taken to a "special prison." The Japanese military deceived them with the false promise that "cooperating with health checks and epidemic prevention research would earn them freedom," subjecting them to extreme tortures such as frostbite experiments, poison gas tests, and live dissections... Through the perspective of civilians, the film exposes the Japanese military's atrocities against humanity and showcases the unyielding resistance spirit of the Chinese people in desperate situations. It aims to make the world remember history, never forget national humiliation, and defend peace.
