Synopsis:
In the autumn of 1944 the Japanese military had collapsed into an overwhelmingly disadvantageous battle situation in the Pacific War. Under the proposal of Vice Admiral Takijiro Onishi (Masato Ibu), Kamikaze units were formed comprising fighter aircraft loaded with 250 kilogram bombs that would conduct suicidal ramming attacks on enemy ships.

It was the time for Second Lieutenant Bando (Yosuke Kubozuka), Tabata (Michitaka Tsutsui), and Nakanishi (Satoshi Tokushige) to take part in the battle. 439 young men would each solemnly spent the last night of their lives, and would depart for a never-to-return mission next dawn.
