Synopsis: 
The near future: humans have been affected by a fungal disease that turns victims into flesh eating "hungries". Only a small group of children seem unaffected. At an army base in England, this group of unique children retain normal thoughts and emotions, but being subjected to cruel experiments by scientist Dr. Caldwell, whose aims to search for a cure. One little girl, Melanie, stands out from the rest. When the base falls, Melanie escapes along with her favorite teacher Miss Justineau, Sgt. Parks and Dr. Caldwell. And Melanie must discover what she is and ultimately decide both her own future and that of the human race.
